Self-reflection is where you intentionally take time to ask yourself questions about your life, experiences, and goals. It is one of the important parts of our life as it allows us to practice thinking about our experiences and then analyze what was wrong in them and how I could improve myself. It leads us to the growth mindset. Practicing self-reflection and exercising a growth mindset are qualities leaders often exhibit as they engage in a continuous journey of self-development.

An instance that has had the most profound effect on me. The instance or incident that has made the greatest impact on the way I think, the way I see things, or the way I do things was the mock interview, it left the greatest impact on me and it totally changed my idea for the interview. For instance, I didn’t know earlier that interviews can be positive too, or is there any chance of feedback. Nobody ever told me about the thank letter, it had such a great impact on the interviewer. I wrote that letter with great enthusiasm and gratitude and the reply I received was much more positive as well.

Before that mock interview, I always thought that I would be failing in every interview because I have anxiety and nervousness which doesn’t allow me to go out and speak, even sometimes I was unable to answer the question which was asked by the interviewer. I already knew the answer but due to nervousness, I got rejected. Now, I feel that no matter how much I am going to show my nervousness, I am capable of giving answers briefly. Age, gap issue, and with no experience, I am still positive that I can start my career from now on. I started to believe in myself and this is how this incident changed me and the way I see things around me.

This realization was the result of the way the other people around me acted and exhibited their positive energy because if the interviewer showed me any kind of negative energy then I won’t be able to learn, grow and bring myself to the front and never gained that positive energy from her. It’s hard to get out of your comfort zone but once you will decide you will be able to do more and more, beyond your imagination, because even you didn’t know who you are exactly.

If I look back, then I was worried, irritated, and frustrated by the interviews because I knew that if I am going to attempt that interview it would be a total failure. Whatever they will ask, I won’t be giving the right answers and everything will be worse. My anxiety and nervousness will be shown to my face easily and then all things go in vain. But things would be different if I believed that the interviewer is a human also. Maybe If I was able to show my enthusiasm and positive energy to them then it will reflect back and the situation will be different too. I believe that the positive energy comes from you, not around you.
